If you get the error 0x8024400D running Windows Update with "Microsoft Update" enabled try this.

To fix it run:

  • windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe /wuforce

or

  • windowsupdateagent30-x64.exe /wuforce

depending of your version of Vista.

You can get WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe or Windowsupdateagent30-x64.exe from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927891

After reboot Windows Update works again. <google>ENGELSK</google>
